Tammy Nix Alford

I have many inspirations: nature, my faith and spiritual writings, current events, daily experiences.  I portray ideas: beauty, imperfection, joy, questions, ordinary and imaginary subjects in an abstract, non-objective way. My interpretation, while not representational, expresses my feelings. I love to experiment with different mediums, but most of my work is acrylic, cold wax and oil, encaustics, watercolors and inks, and mixed media.

I am a life-long artist, taking college level art classes, community classes, and professional workshops.  As a cancer survivor, enjoying and living every day to its fullest is a priority, and I express this in my work.

I live in Wichita, Kansas with my husband, best friend, and partner for life. I am blessed to be a mother and grandmother (Oma).
