Acrylic 36”x48”x 1.5” cradled wood panel ($1728 unframed) Psalm 113:3 “From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.” God’s presence in our lives knows no boundaries. Time: When Am I?
This piece was selected for the 2024 National Abstract Art Show.
Acrylic Mixed Media on 16″ x 20″ canvas with 1″ black frame.
$350
Time is fleeting, eternal. It’s the past, the present, the future. The current culture is a blip on the spectrum of history. Political parties, religious practices, fads- none last forever. Time flies along with no one knowing where it will go. Who am I in my time? Our past can be hazy memories; our present is clear but unsure; our future is unknown; “He has made everything beautiful in its time. God has also set eternity in the human heart- yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

Chaos: When Will it End?
Acrylic Mixed Media on 20”x24” Canvas
$350 Framed
Thinking of the chaos in the world- political violence, injustice, evil that is called good and good that is called evil-causes extreme internal emotions. There seems to be no solution. Murky and glaring colors display the emotion I feel. Stark contrasts and layers of shapes swirling around each other show that conflict in the world appears to go on endlessly. “The fool says in his heart, “there is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.” (Psalm 14:1)

Summer Perspectives (No Boundaries Series)
Cold wax and oil on 24x24x1.5 cradled wood panel.
$350
My summer flower gardens are beautiful. Nature has a way of balancing colors and contrasts. Natural beauty gives me joy and peace in a sometimes ugly world.

River Birch (Kansas Tree series)
Cold wax and oil on 12″x12″ paper.
$150 (mounted and unframed)
I love the natural world and derive much of my inspiration from God’s creation. Trees are a picture of one of my spiritual truths: life after death. Brother Lawrence in his book Practicing the Presence of God describes his conversion experience when contemplating the rebirth of trees in spring after the dormancy of winter. Kansas trees while common offer me inspiration of hope, life, and renewal in a dark world. I use light and dark values and line, mostly vertical, to express my search for God. I use textures, real and implied, to emphasize rough tree barks. Life can be rough, but there is hope.

Ripples of Life
Acrylic Mixed Media on 12″x12″wood panel.
With 1″ black frame: Sold
This piece was selected for the Mark Arts National Abstract Show in July, 2022. The Covid pandemic caused many ripples in our lives: some large and some small; some brought light and others brought darkness. We lost many loved ones, but we learned to persevere.

State of Confusion
Acrylic Mixed Media on 12 x 12 wood panel.
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
Confusion can lead to anger and may cause us to feel out of control: “seeing red.” Calm can prevail as we work our way out of confusion into peace.

Peace in the Pandemic
Acrylic Mixed Media on 12″x12″x1″ cradled wood panel. (not framed) $145 Sold
What is peace? Can peace be busy? Can confusion and doubt be on the surface, yet there be calm underneath? This is my expression of “peace in a storm.”

My Prairie Sky
Cold Wax and Oil on 12″x12″ wood panel.
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
My family roots are in southwestern Oklahoma and Kansas. The deep blue sky, windblown clouds and grasses speak to my soul. There is deep beauty in the long silence in the prairie.

Winter Landscape
Acrylic Mixed Media on 12″x12″ wood panel
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
I see the world through simple shapes and color. This landscape shows the simple shapes of the house, trees, and bushes. The color contrasts of snow against the trees and dormant bushes and grasses bring a sense of balance. The Kansas winter sky can be bright blue which gives another contrast with the trees. Simplicity and balance, my motto for my life.

Alaskan Glacier
Acrylic mixed media with collage elements on 12×12 wood panel.
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
The Alaskan glacier landscape is rich in textures and nuances of colors. Playing with collage elements I wanted to emphasize the dramatic repetitions of colors and textures of this majestic glacier.

Woman with Flowers
Acrylic and mixed media/collage papers.
On 18″x 20″ cold pressed paper. SOLD

Sunrise to My Eyes
Cold Wax and Oil on 12″ x 12″ wood panel

The beauty of Kansas sunrises are beyond words. This work tries to express my joy in the colors of a summer sunrise. The layers show the nuances of God’s beautiful palette.

Beauty in Imperfection Series
Beautiful Flower
Acrylic Mixed Media on 12″ x 12″ wood panel
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
The translation of the Chinese characters could be ruthless or marble hearted which fits with my expression of the simple beauty of the flower. While not perfect, it stands proudly against the background. The simple lines contrasting with the busy background; the light background of the flower against the dark world behind it. Hoping to inspire others to see their beauty in their imperfection and to stand proudly against the darkness in the world.

Beauty in Imperfection Series
Free to Be Me
Acrylic Mixed Media on 12″ x 12″ wood panel
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
This bright flower sits on a dark background. The contrasts emphasize how this flower stands out proudly and unashamed of its imperfections. It’s my tribute to all of us who aren’t part of the fabricated beauty industry in our culture.

Fall Memories
Acrylic mixed media on 12×12 wood panel.
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
Fall colors are my favorite palette. The under layers of this painting show hints of summer flowers and plants that have given place to autumn. Fall can be a windy time in Kansas, so I tried to capture that sensation in the swirls and energy.

Stormy Ocean Sunset
With 1″ black frame: $170 Sold
The intense colors of a sunset over the ocean is like a palette of exploding colors. While impossible to capture the full range of colors, this painting expresses the emotion I feel as I witness this incredible phenomenon in nature.
